The Art and Design of Online Schooling – how quality digital content can improve learning outcomes!

Kartee has been working closely with various schools in Pune for the past few years. During the pandemic, we learned from the schools that they were struggling to generate quality digital content as that was something they had no expertise in.

Most teachers were typing out content from textbooks and pasting images to go with it. This was true of many old and reputed schools as well. This kind of online material is, simply put, boring. And with no physical engagement, no body language cues from the teacher, and plenty of other distractions in their own rooms, most kids tuned out, much to the dismay of their teachers and their parents.

Flags

Have you ever wondered while getting ready for school, what your friend in Australia might be doing at that very moment? Or your cousin in London? With a highly interconnected and globalized world, we feel the time differences more keenly than the previous generations did.

This eye-catching wall-mounted artwork depicts some adorable Kartees of the world at one moment in time. It can be the centerpiece in a library or a hallway and a starting point for stimulating conversation.

World Map

Do you have friends and family living in different parts of the world? Do you ever wonder what time it is there? Well, Kartee has just made things easier for kids.
We have created an 8*4ft world map, depicting 4 different time zones of the world. Handcrafted in exclusive pine wood.

This large pinewood world map has 4 clocks installed for 4 different time zones. As children learn about the world and concepts like Prime Meridian and the seasons, solstice, and equinox, this beautifully blue-stained map will not just be aesthetically pleasing but thought-provoking to behold.

India Map

Wouldn’t it be exciting if kids could feel the shapes of the different states of India? How much fun if they could put them together in a giant puzzle to form the map of India?! This is precisely what Kartee has done. This finely crafted puzzle of India is made of pine wood veneer stained in beautiful natural earth shades. It comes in a self contained pine wood box that is easy to carry. Have fun while you learn!

Kartee’s Atmanirbhar Story

The quarantine period has proved that digital spaces won’t shrink the need for toys with rise in sales of board games and puzzles. Parents resorted to these over virtual ones, to engage with their little ones during the country-wide lockdown. The physical toy will always be relevant.

We at Kartee, are focusing on developing world-class products in the kids’ sector. PM Modi stressed upon being ‘Atmanirbhar’. And in his Mann ki Baat, he discussed regarding Made in India toys and the industry scope, especially for startups. Kartee is one such homegrown brand. We specialize in designs for children that are beautifully finished and a joy to handle.

And Kartee’s India Map puzzle is one such product. Made of pinewood, the quality is world-class and the size is large enough for multiple children to come together and have fun with it. And while we may think we know our country well, at such a large scale, it has the capacity to perplex and challenge adults too! 🙂

The puzzle’s beauty lies in the size, colour, texture and feel of its hand-polished wood pieces. It is truly a delight for kids and adults.

Kartee is here to create toys that are original, high-quality, India-made and fun! This is what our DNA is made of! So, let’s be vocal for local. And be ‘Atmanirbhar’!

What are you reading?

Parents often talk about all the time they didn’t spend watching TV. Truth is there really wasn’t anything to watch if you were growing up in the 80s. There was plenty of time to get bored too. But if you loved books and loved to read, time would pass pleasantly enough.

Cooking up a storm

Kids love playing in the kitchen. All kids. Boys too. And why wouldn’t they? There is so much to see, touch, taste and smell. Right since their toddler days, when they are knee high and can’t ‘see’ what’s the action, to when they are able to clamber on top of chairs and tables, the kitchen is an exciting place to be.

As they grow older, they start exploring cooking. Starting with making lemon juice to making sandwiches. I actively encourage my son to participate in the cooking. At age 11, I let him use the gas too. Though under supervision. He loves cooking scrambled eggs which makes a scrambled mess. But I love his enthusiam and the sense of accomplishment he gets.

Kartee has designed cute red and white aprons for li’l MasterChefs. They feature an intense battle that will catch their attention. And best of all, the aprons are designed to have no knots. Even your 4 year old can feel oh-so-important. Lemon Juice anyone?

Puzzles

Puzzles are a great way to relax and yet be challenged. You can go at your own pace, you don’t need a ‘partner’ and you can pick as tough a challenge as you feel like. They are good to sit with inside on a rainy day.

Kartee has designed an India Map puzzle that is 5 feet by 4 feet in size. Yes, it’s huge. But then India is huge too! All the pieces are made of pine wood veneer and are beautiful to touch and handle. We think we know the map quite well, but I promise you, it’s going to take quite a few attempts before you can get it all perfect. But that’s the fun of it right? The thrill of wondering how to complete it.
